Vorlauf

Der Vorlauf ist gerudert - und wir haben es tatsächlich direkt ins Finale geschafft! Wir konnten schon am Start die Bugspitze nach vorne schieben und die (wenn auch knappe) Führung kontinuierlich ausbauen. Am Ende sah das Ergebnis unseres Vorlaufes (hier auch nochmal offiziell zum nachlesen) aus wie folgt:

Der zweite Vorlauf war zumindest nach den Zeiten deutlich schneller. Hier erstmal das Ergebnis:

Damit stehen außer uns auf jeden Fall schon mal Italien, Niederlande und Australien im Finale, um die letzten beiden Finalplätze streiten sich die übrigen Boote morgen im Hoffnungslauf. Wir werden auf jeden Fall hinfahren um uns das anzusehen - das wird hoffentlich auch helfen, die Vorlaufzeiten besser einzuschätzen, weil noch können wir uns noch nicht ganz vorstellen, dass GBR genauso schnell sein soll wie wir. Auf jeden Fall wird's spannend im Finale - das Boot lief zwar schon deutlich besser als im Relationsrennen, aber ein bisschen können wir bestimmt noch draufpacken... Meinem Gefühl nach ist aber echt jede Platzierung von zwei bis sechs denkbar. Es bleibt spannend....

Heat

The heat is over, and with a small, but constantly defended head start we have made it directly to final A.

The result of the two heats (official figures here) is:

This means that beside us, Italy, the Netherlands and Australia have already qualified for the Final. All the other boats will compete tomorrow in the repecheage. We're quite excited about what will happen there, as it gives us a hint on how far we can trust the times of the heats - so far, we cannot really believe that our heat was entirely slower than the second one. Anyway, though all of us had the feeling that this race was already better than our test race in Ratzeburg, we're confident that we can - and have to - improve further. From my personal feeling, the final will to be tough, and in the end it can be any position between two and six for us...
